I came to see the Ford 021C and it wasn't there. It was great aside from that. You got about a dozen cars you can view for free in the reception area and parking garage. There's a kei car that people can actually get in next to the gift shop. All three of the floors are amazing. The Vault might be the best part because it's just cars parked right next to each other without all the other art, cultural, and mechanical stuff.

Peterson Automotive Museum was simply awesome. First let's talk about the building's exterior, which looks really cool. Parking is pretty straightforward, as there is a parking garage connected to the museum, and every spot is not a long walk from the entrance. Even before you enter the main display rooms, there are some cars in the lobby to check out, which was pretty neat. Once you enter, you start at the top floor and make your way down (there are a total of three main exhibit floors). The cars displayed on the top floor go through the history of automobiles, allowing you to learn about where it all started. Everything is very engaging, and I didn't find myself getting bored. On one of the floors, there are some cars that were filmed in movies, with TVs showing the scene from the film. The bottom floor didn't disappoint, either. There was a whole Waymo exhibit showcasing where the autonomous ride service started, where it is now, and where it plans to be in the future. It was very interesting. There were some more really cool cars from films down here also, perhaps most notably a DeLorean from Back to the Future! An awesome bonus to the day was our visit to The Vault, where a very large collection of cars are showcased. These cars included classics, like a Ford Model A, to supercars from Ferrari and Lamborghini. You can spend so much time down here alone. Overall, I had an amazing time at this museum. Peterson Automotive Museum far exceeded my expectations. I would very highly recommend that anyone who loves cars visit this amazing museum.

I was blown away by Petersen. The collection of cars is amazing, the staff is excellent, and the overall curation/quality of the museum is also fantastic. Definitely worth the price, and if you have the chance, also pay a visit to the Vault! A few extra tips: 1) If you arrive close to opening time, you might be able to do street parking in the street behind the museum for $1.5/hour. 2) DO NOT miss out on the chance of getting a tour. The website doesnβt explain the tours available very well, but you can call/email the museum in advance to see the days/times when public tours happen and join one. This will take your experience to a whole new level. Having someone with deep knowledge to tell you the history of different cars makes you enjoy the museum even more. 3) If you canβt take a tour, do not shy away from asking questions to the volunteers. They are very willing to share their knowledge and guide you along parts of the exhibit. Will definitely visit again when I come to LA in the future!

This place is definitely my favorite car museum in the world. I had the pleasure of having Jeff as one of my guides. He is absolutely amazing. The knowledge that that man contains about the vehicles that are in that facility are unmatched. He completely made my day with the stories he knew in the history of the vehicles. Do yourself a favor if youβre gonna come out to this museum, do not skip out on the vault you will regret it. Going to this place for me was like going down memory lane and bringing back all the best memories of my childhood if you love vehicles youβre in the right place.
